WELCOME TO
NEW AVENUE
SCHOOL
A new independent special school for 20 pupils, aged 9-16, with SEMH needs.

WHO ARE WE?
New Avenue School is a small, specialist independent school supporting pupils with SEMH and associated needs.

We are an established provision for pupils aged 9–16 who require a personalised, relationship-led approach to education.

The school provides a calm, structured environment where pupils feel safe, understood, and able to re-engage with learning. We work closely with families, local authorities, and professionals to support progress that is steady, meaningful, and sustainable.

Our vision is for New Avenue School to be a place where pupils who have struggled elsewhere can stabilise, rebuild confidence, and move forward with purpose.

We aim to provide a small, consistent setting where relationships come first and learning follows. By keeping numbers low and staffing stable, pupils experience predictability, trust, and support that lasts.

We want pupils to leave us better equipped to manage learning, relationships, and everyday challenges, with a clearer sense of their strengths and next steps.
OUR VISION
Our ethos is built on consistency, respect, and understanding.

We know that many pupils come to us after difficult experiences of school. We take time to get to know them properly and respond in a way that is calm, fair, and predictable.

You’ll see clear routines, steady expectations, and adults who remain consistent when pupils are finding things hard. We focus on helping pupils understand their behaviour, build self-control, and feel safe enough to engage.

We believe progress happens through trust. When pupils feel secure and supported, they are more able to learn, take responsibility, and move forward.
